How Collaboration Turned My Vision for the Capital Elle Business Impact Award into Reality
When I first set out to create the Capital Elle Business Impact Award for Canadian women entrepreneurs, I knew I didn’t want to do it alone. While I was ready to invest $5,000 of my own money and offer a year of business coaching, I also knew that real impact would come from bringing others on board.
But let me be honest with you: I had never secured sponsorship before. I definitely struggled with imposter syndrome. I decided that, even if no one joined me, I’d move forward anyway. However, what happened next blew me away—my community showed up in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Ten organizations came forward to support this award and the women who will benefit from it.
The Power of 10: Why Collaboration Matters
There’s something symbolic about the number 10—it represents connection and completion, which resonates so deeply with what we do at Elleiance. Our network thrives on collaboration, and this award is a testament to the power of working together. Each partner brings unique strengths and resources, and together, we are creating a more supportive ecosystem for women entrepreneurs. Stay tuned for more on why 10 is so meaningful to Elleiance in an upcoming post.
The Value of Community Support
If you’ve ever received support from people you admire, you know how empowering it feels. That’s exactly what this experience has been for me—true validation. Together with these amazing partners, we’re not just giving away an award; we’re changing the funding landscape for women entrepreneurs. We’re raising the bar on what social capital looks like, proving that we’re done waiting on the sidelines for opportunities—we’re building them ourselves.
