Please provide a summary of your business, who you serve and how you serve them

My business, You Unlimited, helps leaders, employees and retirees practice Safe Stress!
I provide keynote presentations and workshops in Stress Management in two scenarios: as a workshop facilitator/keynote presenter and as an entertainer/musician as my alto-ego Lana Miranda, the Ukulele Lady, keynoting my “courageous joy” message to all who need a lift in life. I am also a Career Coach, assisting individuals to create their best combination of work and life.

What were key elements of your personal and professional journey that lead you to where you are today?

I spent many years coaching and guiding post-secondary education students through their career journey and was witness to and experienced the toll stress took on students and colleagues alike. I was also a contractor for a national employee assistance program, delivering hundreds of wellness programs to many organizations. I combined those skills to develop and present my programs on resilience, stress management, planning for retirement, and what I consider to be the ultimate stress management technique: living life in alignment with your truth.

What motivates you the most to keep going?

The feedback that I have received from my audiences over the years that I made a change for the better in their lives…big or small. I have read over the years that the secret to living a satisfying, beautiful life is living it with, and on purpose. My work is my joy and purpose. I feel truly blessed for this.

What is one important lesson that entrepreneurship has taught you that has impacted you the most?

Keep your eyes on the prize. Never give up.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?  What do you still have left to accomplish?

I see myself combining my love of travel and visiting family with my business. Technology has allowed us to be more “foot loose and fancy free” and I’m going to grab every opportunity to use it to ensure balance and freedom going forward.

Why did you join The Elleiance Network, why do you think it is important to have a support network and what do you love most about being a part of Elleiance?

I was introduced to The Elliance Network through Emily Shandruk of Emily Shandruk Solutions, and I thank my lucky stars I met her! I returned to Thunder Bay after many years away, and the Elleiance Network has been a wealth of positivity and support over the last two years. Being a sole proprietor can be a lonely gig at times and I look forward to connecting with the other Elleiance women at our monthly meetings and other events. I have belonged to many networking groups, but I can honestly say that the positive, encouraging vibes from the other women places Elleiance at the top of the heap. Thank you, Erin for making this organization a reality!

Notes from Erin

I say it all the time but I am going to say it again, the women who are drawn to join Elleiance are truly special, incredible women and Lana is no exception.  It is because of Lana and the other fellow members that the culture of empowerment and genuine support of one another shines so brightly.

My best description of Lana is a bright shiny star or beacon of light.  She radiates goodness, authenticity and generosity.  Lana's ability to connect with others is her gift.  I encourage you to reach out to Lana for your next keynote speaker or team workshop.
