Please provide a summary of your business, who you serve and how you serve them
TBXI is an innovative business solutions provider dedicated to meeting the diverse needs of our clients. Our locally sourced managed solutions are custom-built around their unique needs, connecting their internal resources, information, and document processes with unparalleled efficiency. We give our clients a competitive edge by providing the most innovative, productivity-boosting solutions including Managed Print, Managed IT, Cybersecurity, Hosted Cloud solutions, and so much more. Our customer base is primarily in Thunder Bay and Northwestern Ontario, but we have customers located all across Canada. Whether you are a small business or a multinational corporation, we have the technology and expertise to transform how your office works.
What were key elements of your personal and professional journey that lead you to where you are today?
After graduating from the Business Accounting program, I spent several years working at a financial institution. However, I soon realized that this path wasn't fulfilling for me, and with the unwavering support of my husband, Bryan, I decided to take a leap of faith and search for new opportunities. A turning point in my career came when a friend shared a job posting for TBXI. I feel that I joined TBXI at a pivotal moment in the company’s journey, as they were gaining recognition and working to integrate the print and IT markets effectively. Initially, I managed their subsidiary office supply division, The Office Suppliers. With some experience, I was offered to manage a couple of our larger national print customers and from there I’ve expanded my knowledge in the print and IT sector’s so that I could fully comprehend how to make the information flow through our systems accurately. A significant personal milestone that influenced my professional journey was my decision to give up alcohol over three years ago. This choice brought a newfound clarity and focus to my life, allowing me to identify what truly matters. This clarity ignited a stronger drive to succeed professionally, and I was promoted to the Director of Administration position shortly after. I feel that my growth has mirrored TBXI’s evolution. Contributing to the development and refinement of our internal processes has been incredibly fulfilling, and I am proud to be part of TBXI’s ongoing success.
What motivates you the most to keep going?
What keeps me motivated is the vision of seeing our transformation reach its full potential. Since taking on localized administration and service, it's been an incredible accomplishment to watch our departments and processes synergistically combine to improve productivity and workflow. I am committed to fine-tuning our internal processes to provide our customers with the best possible service, accurate billing, and up-to-date information as technology evolves. My fascination with technology and its potential to simplify our lives and workflows keeps me excited about the innovations the future holds. Additionally, being in a management role has been highly rewarding. It allows me to share my knowledge and mentor other staff, ensuring they understand how information flows through our systems effectively. This continuous learning and teaching cycle fuels my passion and dedication to our company's success.
What is one important lesson that entrepreneurship has taught you that has impacted you the most?
One key lesson I've learned in business is the importance of adaptability. Embracing change and continuously learning are crucial to staying ahead.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? What do you still have left to accomplish?
In 10 years, I envision myself continuing to drive the growth and success of TBXI, building on the strong foundation we have established to date and the trust we have earned throughout our client base. My primary goal is to ensure that all our administrative processes are not only implemented but also rigorously followed. This commitment to precision and consistency will ensure that the information flowing through our systems is accurate and reliable, providing a solid foundation for our company's continued growth. Over the next decade, I aim to accomplish several key objectives. Primarily, I want to see our administrative processes become a benchmark for excellence within our industry. Additionally, I hope to cultivate a work environment where every team member feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. By fostering personal growth and encouraging each team member to exceed their potential, we can continue to build a dynamic and cohesive team.
Why did you join The Elleiance Network, why do you think it is important to have a support network and what do you love most about being a part of Elleiance?
I joined the Elleiance Network thanks to the encouragement of my boss, Dave. Initially, I thought Elleiance was only for entrepreneurs, but I soon discovered it is for all women in business. It's refreshing and motivating to connect with like-minded women who share the same drive and passion for success. Each meeting leaves me with valuable takeaways that I can integrate into my work and personal life.
